The best places to think....

Things have been hectic with his life and he's not sure he's been able to get his head on straight since the fight with the Chitauri. He's closer but, really, that's the sort of thing that only time will prove. Weaknesses only show up under stress testing and sometimes only repeated stress testing at that. So, because he was bored, he found some trouble in Hell's Kitchen. Really, it isn't hard to do. There is a lot of trouble in a number of places in New York.

He's going to be showing a black eye in the morning and there are a few cuts that he should probably have looked at before going to sleep. Still, he feels better than he has in awhile, crouched up here looking out across the buildings. He can see Stark's building in the distance, as if the thing isn't visible from space.

Steve glances down for a moment, feeling... well, almost touched at the implication here.

"Then maybe we can have a talk about it sometime... although tracking her down will be a lot harder now that she's not reporting in to anybody..."

"I really doubt that she's completely off the grid," Clint says a little wryly. "She'll be around when you need her to be."

That sounds like the voice of experience again. Dancing on the lines of what he will and won't, can and can't say to this man. There aren't a lot of people that he wants to make like him and it burns a little that he has that reaction to this man. Also, it doesn't stop him from genuinely liking him.

That sounds like a line that should summon her to their spot immediately. But nobody's magic here.

Steve sighs. "Well, then. While we wait for that, how about we haul these guys into containment and then I buy you a drink for saving the city? Maybe you can tell me a story that IS yours to tell."

[distantarcher]

They don't really need her here, though, do they?

"Sounds like a plan. I'm not normally a plan guy but I've heard that you are, so we're covered," he says with a crooked smile. "You'll have to let me know what you want to hear, though. I'm not usually much of a talker."

"Not every good story has to be a long one," he counters, hoisting one of the goons over his shoulder, before sprinting toward the ledge to jump to the next rooftop and collect the other guy.

The man is strong and kind of ridiculous with the physicality.

Clint was going to say something about that but then Cap is moving and undertaking impressive feats of strength almost casually. He watches the other man move for a few moments before following along behind him. "I do like the idea of a meal or something."
